My career began in aviation, working for Dan Air, Caledonian Airways/JMC/Thomas Cook Airlines and British Airways. I worked as cabin crew/manager for 24 years, spending 4 years as a cabin crew instructor training everything from customer service, safety and emergency procedures (SEP), medical and CRM (Crew Resource Management). I was also a Performance Coach where I spent my time at 33,000 feet, coaching and ensuring the Cabin Managers adhered to all cabin standards.

 

I hung up my wings in 2010 and joined Ryman Stationery, part of the Theo Paphitis Retail Group as Training Manager and Learning & Development Business Partner. The company was heavily invested in their people’s development and allowed me to acquire the qualifications to develop myself and our people further, including my CIPD in Learning & Development Practice, ILM Coaching & Mentoring Level 5 & Insights Client Practitioner plus a couple more. I stayed 10 years before moving on to work for a NWF Fuels Fuel as Learning & Development Manager, where I successfully introduced Induction, and delivered a Development Programme called Aspire for up-and-coming managers, there were 12 delegates on the programme, all completed the course and 10 were promoted. I was also involved with apprenticeships and health & safety.

 

I left NWF in February 2024 to start Butterfly People Development where I specialise in team building via Insights Discovery and Lego Serious Play and offering bespoke leadership training and 121 coaching, focusing mainly on existing managers and aspiring managers. I am also an associate of Pebble People Development where I work with a team of like-minded people. 

 

My whole career has revolved around people and I like nothing better than helping people to transition and grow.
